Deltec ECO cooler

I am looking into Chiller alternatives and read some stuff about the Deltec ECO cooler. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them, both good and bad. I was also wondering who on-line offered the best price on Deltec.

Deltec stuff costs the same everywhere, but you might be able to find a used one somewhere.

I have also heard great things about these chillers.

They work on evap, so your top-off will be working overtime, and the humidity in your house will go up dramatically I'm sure (most users try and keep them outside).

The only thing that I see as a problem is the foam pad on the inside that the water runs through. A possible nitrate issue in the future if its not maintained.

In the end, Deltec knows what they are doing and make top-notch stuff, and I'm sure these eco-coolers are no exception.

Cheers,

Evap should not be a problem for me, I would be installing this in my basement and I am also running an air-exchanger. As for finding one of these used, I have never seen one anywhere used. I don't think Deltecs big one will quite be enough for my tank, but I figure if I can go with a much smaller chiller it will be worth it... Although it does cost as much if not more than a 2hp chiller...

Have you gotten this chiller, Harleyguy? If so, what do you think about it? I'm interested in one for a 450g tank.

Hi guys, did anyone of you eventually got or running this device?
I am refreshing this topic is because I have read and understand that this eco cooler is good only if your local environment have very low humidity for it to really work. And how well it can keep a constant temperature since its reliance on the ambient unlike a chiller.
