Demmel's 180gallon SPS tank :)

So I have been on the forums for a couple years now with multiple tanks, multiple problems.

I decided to go to a larger tank and I am so glad I did. I got this tank around 2-3 months ago and added SPS around 6 weeks ago. I have had LPS and SPS before but it was always a mixed tank, never just SPS well that changed and for some reason I like these sticks. Especially milles and acros.

My system:

-180 gallon DT with dual overflow
-40 gallon sump with 3 sections with a refug filled with cheato in the middle
-My skimmer is a super reef octopus xp2000 external but I run it internally
-I have 2 gyre xf 150 on each side and I have 2 Jabeo RW15s on the back of the tank to make sure there are no dead spots
-my return pump is a mag 12
-I have a sunpower ATI 8 bulb with 2 reefbrites one on the front and one on the back, the bulbs are 4 coral plus and 4 blue plus
-I do not run any gfo
-I dose both Alk and Calc via a bubble magnus pump

For corals: I am honestly so bad with names that hopefully yall can help me with them. I know I have a lot of acros and milles with some of them being pretty rare, some of them still have to color up but they have been doing great in my tank with great PE

For fish: I have 2 clownfish, 1 purple tang, 1 powder blue tang, 1 yellow tang, 1 blue eye kole tang, 1 green wrasse, 2 carriberyi anthias, 1 green chromis, 1 firefish. I am sure I will get some comments that it is too many tangs but I honestly do not think so and if they do get too big or fight, I will move one or however is needed.

Dosing/additives: All I do is feed twice a day, dose 2 part for calc and alc, and i feed acropower every morning when the lights are off.

Pictures: All were shot with my Iphone with an orange/pink filter to take out all the blue. The corals look a lot better in person but I thought this would at least show what I have and how good the PE is right now(knock on wood) I did not touch the pictures with an picture editing, I am still hoping I can figure that out to see how to make the corals look like their true colors in person

forgot this:

my tank readings are calc 420
alk 8
phosphate between 0-0.05 going to try to have them around 0.05 more often
nitrate read 0

I use salifert for everything besides the hanna for phosphate

going to take some updated pictures tonight, I am going to be feeding more and dosing more acropower to try to color up my corals more as some are not getting the colors I want.

Nitrate and phosphates have always been 0 when tested in the past 2 months.

my light right now is around 10 inches off the water with the highest coral 9 inches to the top, so around 19 inches from the light say 17 inches to be safe.

I was thinking about lowering my light around 2 inches to hopefully get some higher par and more growth. Any opinions? I have a 8x80w 4 blue plus 4 coral plus t5 sunpower with 2 reef brites, one on the front and one on the back.

I have all SPS with mostly milles and a couple acros. Corals have all been in here for a least a month

Sounds like a good plan to me, I have my light at 8" above the water and my tank is very shallow (16" tall), my pink lemonade has grown to be about 3" away from the surface. Would love to see more pics of your tank. :)

I am going to try to use a friends camera to take better pictures of my tank because now I only take unedited pictures with my iphone and they are not good quality at all.

Thanks for the response!

here is an updated FTS as of yesterday, move from corals around and made a wall in the back that I think will be nice once everything grows out.

I am thinking about moving down my lights an inch or two, right now they are 9 inches off the water and as you can see most of my corals are pretty far down in the tank

Looks awesome man I really like the layout from the full tank shots. Just a matter of time until the corals grow out

Watching the tiny frags grow over time is what got me to decide to make my current tank all SPS. It looks like you will have some great ones.

Frags do need sooo much time to grow but when they do,the feelings you get, totally worth all this waiting time man!
Is that a reefbrite on the side of the fixture?

Yup I am excited, its nice to take pictures once a month to see the grow difference because if nots its hard since we are looking at the tank every day

Yup I am excited for it!

Yes, I have a reefbrite on the front and one on the back. I run just them for 2 hours before the t5s come on and also 2 hours after. man do they make the colors pop.

You can't imagine how many times i was just before i buy it but backed out at the last minute because of the shipping cost and customs!
One day i'll get it lol
Every one, is so pleased with it and it looks nice to the side of the fixture.

I did not order mine new, I got it from a local reefer. I see them for sale every now and then on here and with leds you cant beat buying them 50% off + when they'll still last a very very long time. especially if the owner took good care of them. I have the XHO and the TECH, XHO is $500 new and the TECH is $300 new. I bought both for $300 which I could never beat so I pulled the trigger right away.
