I'll take another picture or 50 when it opens up. Polyps are between dime and nickle sized closed maybe slightly bigger.

sorry this pic is blurry and not white balance adjusted but it shows the polyp size

Any PE on this guy yet Andrew?

Very little Dave. I did get one polyp to eat a piece of shrimp but it never opened up at least not much.

What makes you positive it isn't a sun coral? It sure looks like one to me.

It was sold to me as a dendro by a very reputable store. I could have bought 8 sun coral colonies for the same price at the same store.

I usually try and squirt a little cyclopeeze or Rods food at mine to get it ready to eat (and give it 5 or 10 minutes to open up. ) It then extends and is ready to feed.

definitly not sun coral, although im not sure exactly why type of dendro. sun coral tends to be the same color throughout, whereas dendro has a darker shade on the polyps like this one.

1000% not a sun coral. Its a dendro !!

Good score and Good luck. They tend to be shy at 1st when you introduce them to your tank. GIve them a day or so to get used to your tank.
