Ok, I understand that this coral is doomed in the aquarium. But here me out...My local fish store had this in there and I asked him about it...he said that he did not order it, it came in a discounted shipment he got a good deal on. And I believe him, because he does care and would not bring anything in that would almost set someone up to fail or die in his store and lose money.

They have been spot feeding it different stuff and it is inflated and standing up but not extending itself out. He did not have much info. on it and either do I, but I thought I would give my hand at it...

So any help would be awesome....Thanks again.

For most people dendros are impossible to keep.I'm sure someone has had some limited sucess in a species specific type tank but any well known reef expert will tell you to stay away from them. they are non photosynthetic and their food source is almost impossible to duplicate in an aquarium.

Well better my aquarium then a LFS's, where it is sure to die...Like I said before, I do condone people purchasing stuff that will almost not make it in the aquarium, but when a LFS gets with out paying for it and on accident. Then why not take a shot at it?

I figure who knows what will happen and someone will figure it out. There was a time when this hobby was not able to sustain most corals (including SPS, which is a huge part of the hobby now), there is a learning curve for everything and not everyone should try and beat that learning curve, but I truly feel that I would like to try and I am not just the average hobbyist.

So, if I can get help from other people then that is even better...the only way we can improve anything in this hobby is to trade notes and that is what I am trying to do here...

Agreed.

The most serious dendronephthya keepers are at the second linked thread, where you can reach them (without being criticized) :D
