A few weeks ago I started the brs bio pellet "experiment." I dose the zeobak , zeofood and zeostart. Ive made absolutely no changes(feedings, dosings,params,flow..nothing) to the system. I got these six dendro's at the macna in atlantic city , so that was about two years ago, and they've always been extended and "happy" and never had cause to give me concern. Now they(all six) stay closed almost all the time and the hard body is starting to turn a little white, unlike the normal deep orange they used to be. Most of my problems have been based around sps and never had any kinds of problems with these animals. Im a little concerned and would like a little input from the npc community if anyone can. thanks

This may be helpful. No3 running its course and no reduction, Po4 is slightly higher this last week (due to removal of gfo as per instructions)up to 0.1 from 0.04 , but for a long time i never paid po4 any thought and they were fine in po4 of over 1.0 , However there is a significant decrease in cyano and diatoms. In fact the red slime is almost gone but is being replaced by a green slime(but still not as much as pre bio pellet). So this is telling me something, if the po4 and no3 are not being removed "yet", something else is,.. posibly affecting the dendros(?). Tests are valid.

why did you remove the gfo reactor..mine runs all the time except to change the media..i would go back to your old feed regimie and see if that helps.. something is causing them to be unhappy all the sudden.. also a couple of pic's would help alot

Any update? Are the dendros doing fine?

yes I sent three of the dendros I could get off the rocks and sent them to a friends tank and they opened right back up for him. I took the bp's off line a couple weeks ago and the remaining dendros are starting to get their color back and starting to extend more frequently with every day. In a couple more weeks Im going to retrieve the other three and put them back.

Possibly high phosphate? I just started my brs biopellets and started with 1/4-1/3 of the recommended dose. I did not take the gfo offline due to the time it takes for the bacteria population to grow. Did you put your gfo back
