Depth of Field Pictures

I was bored out of my mind the other day and wanted to experiment with the camera. I setup the tripod, mounted up the macro lens, and starting playing with the f-stop/aperture/depth of field. The goal was to see how the image changed as the f-stop increased, and show them in a photo timeline.

The differences from picture to picture aren't that drastic, but if you compare the photo with the lowest f-stop to the one with the highest, the differences are amazing.

pretty cool. The difference aren't that dramatic because the subects are still relatively close. If the branchs were spread out farther it would have been more drmatic. Still, a very good example of DOF.

Cool progression. Can you give us some more detail? Shutter speed, ISO, exposure comp? You can see the noise increase slightly with each progression.

I agree with this. I was giving an online class on another forum, and did something similar. The idea was to use two "stationary" targets seperated by an exact distance, (10 feet). The items I chose weren't very interesting, but I used them because they both had areas of print.
