I have had a derasa for about a month now nad he has been a great addition to the tank. Yesterday he started shrinking down into his shell and he's not looking good at all. Does anyone know what I can do to help him out?
I did actually see one of my turbo snails attached to him the other night. The snail was attached to the bottom of the clam and I didn't think anything about it. But, that's when the clam started looking bad. Could the snail have done something to him?
Most likely not caused by the turbo, but the turbo might be sucking on muck generated by some sort of damage/infection to the byssus. The snails in the article are obligate parasites. Turbos aren't "clam eaters."
