What do you think, pinched mantle? Suggestions? I'll be doing a flashlight check for pyrmidal snails after lights out tonight.

I've had the clam for 4 weeks and it's been like this for 3 days

Yellow tang, orange diamond goby, pair of true percs, pair of blue chromis and pair of yellowtail blue damsels

remove any iron based phosphate removers, discontinue any supplements that have iron in them. add a large amount of carbon in a flow through filter and do a 20min fresh water dip. also your dkh is boarder line low, what test kit do you use and do you normally run it that low

I do not use any phosphate removers or iron supplements. I'll add the carbon through a canister filter. I'll be using RO water with temp and pH matched to the display tank. Test kit for dKh is an API, my target is 8-12 (currently low as you stated). Kent superbuffer has been added to raise the dKh.

UPDATE

20 minute freshwater dip on Monday 11/12 - followed by a return to the sandbed

Tuesday 11/13 - looking better, decided to move clam (with rock) higher in the display

Wednesday 11/14 - looking better yet

photo is not the best but clam is now in a tough spot to shoot
