Ok, we are working on getting our new tank ready to order. I could not get a picture on here so I will describe our ideas and would love lots of input from others who have more experience.
We were thinking.....
1 large center overflow in back of tank
one either side of the overflow about 6 inches down, 2 intake holes for the closed loop.
Each one of these holes would be plumbed to go out and meet at a 3 way and a wavemaker of some sort (advice please) and go out to one larger pump where it would then go out to 8 different areas varying on the back of the tank. I am truly hoping to eliminate powerheads. The holes would be in a "V" style for good circulation and could use loc line to help give us ability to make the flow just right.
We then need to order a sump.....and will be looking for a large skimmer if anyone has one. I would like the sump to be about 40 gallons. I will probably use my 20 gallon freshwater (give away the stuff inside) for a refugium. We will be cutting a panel out behind the new tank that goes into a closet where all pumps, sump and all will reside. First, just want to get the tank ordered so please please as much info as you know from your experience...what works and what DOESNT!
THANKS!
