Sounds like it could also possibly be low oxygen levels. Which would be something you couldn't easily test for. Other than the skimmer what else do you have running in your tank?

perhaps a flow issue? Not enough? That could be coupled to o2 levels...

I have an aqua 70 filter, 200gph, 2maxi 1200 powerheads, 2 little fishs 150, and the skimmer with a maxi 1200 pump

This am when I woke up it was stuck to the filter again, who knows for how long - it's still alive but floats upside down and gets blown around by the powerheads - iv got it quarrentined for now, hope it makes it through the day

I don't know what is wrong with the fish, but I have never had a fish recover once that started happening to it.

My wife just called and the fish died - thanks everyone for your help but I think it was just a bit to late

I'm guessing the fish had a condition before being introduced to your tank, don't beat yourself up over it
