Desparately need live shrimp - where to buy locally?

Yea, might do. It was an expensive Mandarin. It was NICE and Westport Aquarium knew it too. Actually it was the nicest Mandarin I've ever seen. Really.

And I feel awful about it. It came really plump. I had it for a week before it even started looking for food (that I could see). The first week it spend all his time staring down its reflection in the glass.

So I started this thread when I could tell - beyond any doubt - that it had lost weight. But it was not skinny like so many Mandarins that I've seen. So I thought there was still time. Clearly not. Bummer.

Everyone has fish die on them for bad reasons. But I hate it when it happens to my fish.

Thanks Alan.

And it's funny, now that iit's all said and done, I realized that I had decided NOT to get a Mandarin. Funny...

And article in Coral mag - not that long ago - stated that many people believed the flesh of Mandarins was poisonous. They cited some anecdotal examples that lent some credence to the belief. And it helped explain the bright colors in a slow moving, easy target to predators. And the article warned about them being - at times - jumpers.

And I thought at the time, "Wow. That would be awful if I bought a Mandarin, it jumped, and then our cat died because he ate it."

I forgot ALL about that! Well, maybe the cat's better off now anyway...
