I bought an Open Brain from a LFS the second weekend of November. At the time when I brought it home it was looking like this.

It was a little sickly looking but it was feeding regularly and was starting to color up beautifully. It was expanding daily and was extending feeder tentacles nightly.
I left my aquarium during the Thanksgiving holiday with most of the major stuff being automated, including the lighting. During the time the timer for the lights broke and got stuck in the on position. It is possible that the lights stayed on for 96 hours straight or more.
When I returned the brain and a few other corals were looking noticeably worse for wear. The brain had begun to bleach and a few other corals did as well. These other corals have since recovered nicely since the incident. Since then though the brain has gone downhill more and more.
As the brain continued to look sick it would often appear to be peeling, almost like a sun burn had occurred and its skin was sloughing off. I would gently blow away whatever the buildup on the coral was with a turkey baster on a regular basis. I had faith that it would recover because it would continue to eat, although it did not put out feeder tentacles.
Today I was inspecting it and for the first time it looks like the flesh of the coral has disintegrated to the point that skeleton is showing through.

The brain is under a ledge out of direct light since the bleaching incident and has medium flow going over it. I have been feeding it fresh shrimp from the seafood section of my grocery store about every other day. I have a feeling that it is a goner but am soliciting any last ditch suggestions from anyone. Thanks for the help.
