detrius fighting in fuge

I am sick and tired of detrius buildup in my fuge. Rock rubble traps tons of it, and my chaeto looks green-gray and full of junk.

Now, my fuge located in classic sump design: skimmer-fuge-return. I want to stay away from filter socks, so my question is, if I mod my skimmer (ASM-G3) to get water directly from overflow, will that solve my problem of keeping junk out of fuge?

I have a rio in my fuge that turns on for 1 minute twice an hour, blasts out cyano and actualy turns over my chaeto

I have no problem with flow in fuge, it is quite strong, .. LR rubble and chaeto traps detrius regardless of flow.

I was having some trouble with my fuge as well TekCat. I added 5 big Turbos and its very clean now. I may have alot less of a bioload though I'm not sure...

AFAIK, Turbos eat algae, not detrius. I was thinking about clean up crew solution to my problem, but I think removing it from the system is a better way to go. Besides, they wont be able to get down below surface of LR rubble "bed".
