Devil's Hand odd Coloring...

My Devil's Hand has been doing well for awhile and now it looks like there is a blueish-grey part staring to move from the root of the coral. dying?????

any idea what it is??? (pict below!!)

Like many leathers, Devil's Hand periodically retracts and builds up a waxy layer, which it then sloughs off. This is normal behavior
