Well after a 2 year break from the hobby I decided to get back into it! I play pro paintball so I was traveling across to Europe and Asia to play so I ran out of time to do reef stuff. Now I'm not traveling anymore and I built a tank! The tank and stand were DIY. I wanted the rock work to be like an Amano FW tank. Very simple but to the point.

30x18x15 3/8" Acrylic tank corner overflow 1" drain with 3/4" return
ATI Sunpower Fixture
2 - Tunze 6025's modded
Eheim 1260 return pump
H&S F90-1000 Skimmer
30lbs Live rock
20lbs sand

I currently only have a few frags in there.
Red Planet
ORA Green polyp Birdsnest
Purple Polyp Birdsnest
Green/blue polyp Cap
Blue/Green Tip Acro

Next week I have coming
Tyree Setosa
Purple Bonsai
Bubblegum Monster
Purple Rim Efflo
Lime in the Sky
ATL Pink cap

My final FTS SUCK and are washed out in blue. My camera was about to die and I couldnt snap anything good without it going dead. I will have better ones this weekend. I also have 10 red spot glass cardinal fish on there way.

Here's the build...
It all started with a rubbermaid container!

Again these pictures SUCK. I will get better ones this weekend. I also have some small bubbles from my return hole being JUST above water level. I am getting loc-line to solve this.

Want to say thanks to pookstreet and SunnyX for inspiring me to start this tank up. Without drooling over theres over and over I would still be watching Planet Earth over and over ;)

Wow very nice! Did you cut your acrylic with a hand held saw? I want to build a sump but I dont have a table saw. Also where did you get your light? What is the difference between it and the power module unit?

Thanks
Dustin

Thanks Dustint!

I used a table saw to cut it. Hand held would be WAY to hard to keep the straight cut needed.

My light is from reefgeek. Its a Sunpower, there is TONS of info in the reefgeek sponsor forum. Instead one a fan on every two bulbs there is one for four. Its also made out of brush AL.

Well done Dfason looks great....
I was cutting pieces of plexiglass at home ones and i'm not goona do it again...LOL :)

Here's a few pictures. Not to good but should work for the time being. I hope to have someone over with a nice camera so I can get some nice pictures. Everything is looking so good and I wish I could show! I have finally glued my plumbing down so no more random micro bubbles. I am going to have my tank in the dark for a couple days to try that out....

My pictures really dont due justice for some of the colors.... The pearlberry is SUPER purple with a whitish base. The sestosa is glowing and my PM is starting to come around. I dont plan on adding much more besides an encrusting monti, Tyree Pink WM and some dendro under my little cave.

My next two upgrades are going to be an MP10 and a I-Tech 100. Hopefully these will be sooner than later. I feel like I need to skim more and I really want to simplify my sump and add a powerhead down there.
