There are a lot of life in the bay system and the Gulf of Mexico. I don't think that spill cause any problem other than a minor hiccup if that. The seafood that come out of the bay and the Gulf of Mexico are fine and served at the best restaurant. One of my friend is a shrimp/seafood wholesaler to restaurants all over the country. Believe it or not, the EPA is very strong here...We have a very strong and stable central government. You may disagree with me here, but if you do, you are wrong.

OrionN, a minor hiccup...? Seriously? That was the worst oil spill in history. I was born & raised in sw Louisiana & shrimping is in my family's blood. I'm really glad that fisherman/shrimpers are doing better along the Gulf coast; but the effects of BP's spill will be felt for decades. The EPA & government are covering up wherever they can, putting a nice spin on it, but doing jack squat. YOU are the one wrong on this issue; or you work for an oil company....But we'll just have to agree to disagree...

OP, sorry for de-railing your thread. How's your tank doing? btw, where do you live to get a local Mediterranean Goby & natural seawater?

fwiw, i just got back from pensacola and i didnt see anywhere near a fraction of the life i saw last time i was there. there were none of the clams in the sand on the beach, none of the burrowing filter feeding crabs. hardly saw any ghost crabs (i saw 2) compared to seeing hundreds last time. the last time i was there was before the oil spill.
