DFS and splits

Deal. $100 per inch (considering you've already pre-committed). We can talk...you may have something I may be interested in too. I need something to spur my interest here again.

I'd be willing to get in on a nice buy...or I can look around and see what I can find at some of the places I used to get stock from, see if they have anything worthwhile.

Sometime after the meet we should talk about doing a group order from Dr Mac (Pacific East Aquaculture) and doing some splits on his stuff. He's got some really funky pieces. (though kinda pricey for the size....but still really funky! )

i think this is an awesome idea but unfortunitly i'm out because of obvious distance reasons
about 6 months ago they had a wild caught blue tort that was about 7" and just awesome but it was like 200$ so there was no way i could do it myself but if i would of had a buddy or two to split it with me - i would of jumped on it
one thing though, especially with the wild caughts, fragging right after purchase is definitly a risky proposition as many found out when spike fragged that wild caught samo that i think everyone lost their piece of. you may be better off with one of the mari acros or even an aussie acan - much hardier then wild caught SPS's even though i have to admit i sure was looking at the birds nest myself - thats a real beauty

the ones the squid posted are all small enough that i'd just buy those myself. if we are going to go in on something i'd prefer something more unusual or larger.

i would be in too cause i would def like a piece of that but a few question/issues/problems we would all need to work out:
1) its a wild caught and if it rtn's after we cut it up we couldn't expect any warrenty - it wouldn't be right, so there is that risk factor
2) it is huge - just imagine a coral 9" around in your tank - but we may end up with nothing but crumbs if it isn't cut up right
3) i would like to see at least 3 of us in on it so it would be 100 each hopefully with a 3 way split we could each get a nice sized piece for our tanks and then some 20$ frags to sell to other club members to offset the cost a little
here is an idea - why don't you check it out when you go up there this weekend and if it looks good and you think we should do it take it. maybe even keven would cut you a deal and we get it a bit cheaper who knows....
if you decide to go for it count me in and maybe we can get one more partner by saturday

I think the best approach would be to keep it in one persons take for the duration of the warranty intact to make sure it makes it fine. then do the fragging. much less risk I think that way.

What was it? A 9" coral - guessing a big favia or acan?

yep that one went fast i thought the price/size would hold it for a bit but oh well....
they called it a pink/purple S. aculeata which is a species name you don't see very often eitherway it was some sort of thick branched birdsnest

Sorry Squid I been wanting to say that for quite some time but never could type it. I don't know what got into my last night!!!!! Maybe I should take some pointers and I wouldn't be in the dog house all the time like I am now!!!!
