DHL nightmare!

My group buy was sent "Overnight by 10:30am" from CA to AZ

Left CA just after midnight.

Hasn't been scanned since.

Local DHL facility says they don't have it. That they have a couple of more boxes to scan. He looked over them, and didn't see my order.

Called main office for the second time. While I wait on hold again, I'm forced to listen to rants and raves of how they'll ship a package from Europe to the US by noon. Great service, fast, reliable. Then they come back on the phone, and tell me they have no clue what happened. They couldn't even get a package one state over on time. The people on the phone were really nice, they just didn't have a solution or explanation.

I asked if it was bumped off the plane. He says that the computer would indicate if that happened, and it didn't. I ask if there's a chance it will come in today. He says not until late at night for a Sat. morn pick-up, maybe Monday. :eek2:

I am absolutely flabbergasted!

I have always used FedEx, and had no problems. Will never use DHL again if this doesn't get resolved.

LOL! Yea I only use (or will use) UPS/brown because they have sooo many places in Tucson, where DHL only has one!

I hope they resolve this and find it!
 
It seems as if DHL isn't really on top of things when it comes to tracking packages. I had some zoos that were to arrive before 10:30 am, and I was obsessively checking their tracking system to see if it had arrived. I left for my lunch hour at 11 am with it showing that the package still had not been delivered. When I arrived at my house at 11:20 am, the package was sitting on my front porch. Just for giggles I checked the tracking number again--it still showed "in transit". Finally, late that afternoon, their tracking system indicated that it had been delivered.

I hope that this is once again a case of poor documentation on their part, and that your shipment arrives on time and in good condition! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!:)
 
DHL is bad i ordered a power cord for my laptop before and paid for overnight and got it 7 days later. they said they were making delivery attempts everyday and i was home the whole time they never came to my door.
 
You may want to go ahead and call Fraggle Reef. They may be able to get further with them if they threaten to never ship with them again. Hope everything makes it, and let me know if there's anything I can do to help--if you need it picked up tomorrow, let me know, it won't be a problem...
 
I have called Fraggle Reef. Left two messages (he probably hasn't received them yet), and sent him a PM through RC.

Guy from local DHL called again. He said that he definitely doesn't have it, and that hopefully it will come in tomorrow morning. He said that the shipper will have to file a claim if anything is dead.

Thanks for your offer. My test is at 1PM, so I don't know what I'm going to do yet.

I'm sorry to everyone who ordered. I've never had this happen with a shipment before.
 
Hey Darlene what is the tracking number? I will be happy to help try and find it from my end...Maybe if enough of us call about they may put a little more effort into locating it..:)
 
I have searched through some threads about DHL, and I have heard bad and good. One guy got his shipment one day late, but his corals were still ok. I hope that we have the same experience. I'm going to be off-line for awhile, but my phone will still be on in case DHL or Miguel calls. I need to study, and then chill for a bit.

I reciently shiped my computer to gateway and back with DHL (not my choice) Im glad I did it before I read this or I would be having a panic attack! lol! ;-P

I'm very sorry to hear about this one, and will be calling them right now to do exactly that. My very sincerest apologies for the shipping issues, and I assure you that anything that doesn't arrive in good shape will be reshipped. Shipping lapses are pretty much equal across all of the shipping carriers though, I've used Fedex and UPS as well, Fedex would get them there on time... in 30 pieces. UPS would get them there... eventually. And DHL is quick, but unfortunately they simply don't have the network in place that Fedex and UPS do, so they tend to have some "dead zones" across the country. I will post back to this thread as soon as I hear something.
 
Thanks, Miguel. I'm sure that everything will turn out. It would be so sad to lose that purple and blue brain... :) I hope they treat you right, as well.
 
ok, I've just gotten off of the phone with DHL and they weren't very helpful, I called my DHL rep and left him a message though, he's usually pretty good at getting things accomplished there. I will keep you all updated as to how this progresses.
 
OK folks here is the deal....Just spoke to a DHL Supervisor in Florida. She confirmed the shipment left Riverside at midnight. They have no way of tracking where the truck is right now. She did say that she does not believe she will have any information for us until tomorrow. There are two trucks the order can be on. One is arriving early tomorrow and one is coming in on Monday. She also called the Tempe location and spoke to Dan who advised her the package never arrived. They are not expecting any more shipments until late tonight. :( Bottom line, there is nothing else they can do and they have NO idea where our livestock is....:( She wanted me to let everyone know she was sorry.
 
My DHL rep just said about the same thing, chances are it's on a truck somewhere on its way to Arizona, and it won't be showing up in their system until tomorrow morning, at which point it can either be where it's supposed to be or they can reroute it. If it arrives tomorrow, then there is a good chance that most of everything will make it, if it arrives on monday, then only the duncans will make it unfortunately. Either way, fortunately your group buy had pieces that are replaceable, and we can ship again for you.
My DHL rep said that the most likely reason for the delay was that no one shipped any perishable, overnight packages on Tuesday and Wednesday due to the holiday, and that on Thursday everyone shipped all at once, which kind of inundated them with overnight shipments in the Riverside hub and make them a little more prone to mistakes.

edit - I just received another call from my DHL rep, the order is on a truck going into Arizona, fortunately since it is so close it should arrive in time to be forwarded for Saturday morning delivery, it should be updated either tonight (please please plase) or tomorrow morning at the very latest.

Once again, my very sincerest apologies for the shipping issues, I know it's a pain on everyone involved, and I will take full responsibility in insuring that everyone receives everything that they ordered in good condition by reshipping any and all items that do not arrive in good shape.
 
I've had a couple shipments delayed and took 3 and 4 days to arrive and most things made it. Yumas no - anemones no - all SPS and LPS were fine. As long as they're not exposed to the heat, we should be fine.

Have to support anyone named Miguel or Miguelito! (my son's name :) )
 
Miguel has a good reputation. Did some background searching before the order. :D Good person to deal with.

Too early for the vodka though, David.
