DI / NSW outside?

I've seen some nice DI/NSW stands using stacked brutes but I don't have the space in my house. Anyone have one of these outside or in a garage? I'm guessing in the summer there would be a lot of evaporation and you would need to cool the NSW inside before using it. Any other issues with heating DI or NSW to 140 degrees on my patio?

I have my rodi in my garage..water temp is about 87 with 55g barrel..usually bring the water in the house for a few hours to drop the temp close to my tank temp..as I keep the house at 77

Do you see a loss of life with your DI resin? I have been told we shouldn't put the RODI unit outside because the heat shortens the life of the DI resin...

I have mine filter and water storage in the garage. No issues with DI life. Water is about 90 in the summer, so I bring it inside the night before I use it.

140 degrees on the water is okay, but any thoughts on how the plastic on brute trash can be affected? Will it release any into the water. I remember reading someone posting about brute trash can leaching to something. Can anyone confirm?

I believe anything made of certain materials can leach phosphates. I have read about eggcrate also leaching phosphates. From what I have read, it goes away after a short period of time. I don't believe I have ever noticed it with my brutes, although I never tested my fresh water when I first got my cans.

I have my RO/DI and brutes in my garage. In the summer time, even though I live in kingman where it's a little cooler, I don't even attempt to make saltwater in the garage. One thing to consider with a salt water mixing station is keeping saltwater stored for even just a week, you will see a drop in Alkalinity and Calcium. I actually stopped making saltwater and storing it for that reason. Now I just mix up a batch a few hours or a day before my weekly water change. It's been over 2 years with my RO/DI in the hot garage and my DI resin last just as long as it use to when I had everything in the house.

Sounds like the heat is not an issue for the DI. But I shouldn't leave the new saltwater outside for an extended time. My garage actually gets hotter than my patio due to the hot vehicles. I'm going to make a rack on the patio for the DI and need to find someplace inside for 20 gal brute. Thanks everyone for the advice.

I appreciate everyone's feedback, too, and I didn't ask the question. I have not gotten an RODI unit becasue I have been told the AZ Heat would break down the DI resin. The only place I have to put it is either the laundry room (not air conditioned) or outside (old house with a carport, not a garage).

I have the RO/DI unit in the house and have a line out to the storage tank in the garage.

Wasn't aware of heat being a breaking down issue for salt water. I'll have to check into that more as I mix and store the salt water in the garage too.

It's not heat that breaks down salwater, Alkalinity and Calcium will naturally precipate out of solution over time. I saw as much as a 4 DKH drop in alkalinity in a week and this was during the winter with a heater on and the water at 78 degrees. Just like I said above, I stopped mixing and storing saltwater for more then a day for that reason.
