how long can DI water sit in a covered trash can in my apartment?

I need to make 100g of DI water for my tank so i can fill it, but its going to take a few days to make that much.

just airate it with a powerhead or a air pump and it can sit for long periods of time. Just make sure its in foodsafe plastic

hmm only have 1 power head and its going to take 4 trash cans

youll be fine for a few days. its only when it sits for weeks that you will have a problem. And since you dont have livestock it wont be a prob too. It will re airate once you get it moving in the tank for a day

Just make sure it's air tight and dark. Should last almost indefinitely then. If light and air gets to it, it tends to grow stuff.

ah nah it will be sealed tight just need it to sit for a few days, till the day comes to head off and buy my live rock and get my tank finaly going woohoo, its only been 2 months since i started
