Diagnose my Jebao WP40

Hey guys

Just picked up a Jebao WP40 second hand this past weekend. It was working fine on the Else mode for a few days, moved it to the back of the tank and the next morning the pump was off. Controller still shows "Else" and "S3"; no light sensor installed.

I unplugged it several times last night. I also removed it, opened it up and soaked it in vinegar. Rinse and returned to tank but still no pump action on power up with "else" and "s3" lit on the controller. I've also tried switching modes and speeds with no effect.

I've searched online for a diagnosis but most of the time I've seen this issue with no pump flow and normal controller lighting, it was recommended to clean and that normally freed it up. Not sure if I need to find a replacement part but would like to see if anyone has had the same experience before I just start trying random parts.

Thanks!

Anyone? Tried replacing ceramic bearing/cylinders at the opposing ends of impeller with air-line hosing as recommended in various places on the internet to no avail. Wanting to check one more time for suggestions before just purchasing a new power head.

Thanks

Unfortunately, that's the way these fail. Replacing parts won't help.

Both of the WP pumps I bought failed in this way. As did a subsequent model, though haven't bothered to try to recall which series. No more Jebao for me.

Like many companies the first series is rarely perfect.. Jebao seems to follow the same and gets considerably better each time around..
I've got a few of the PP series and they have been rock solid so far.. (more than a year for sure)
