*Diagnosis Needed* - eye of Hybrid Powder Blue

Noticed this on the fish's eyes when I got home from work. Has anyone seen this before? I first thought there was eye trauma, but it looks like something is actually ON the eye. Is a freshwater dip in order? The fish is currently in a QT with the standard dosage of Coppersafe. Has been in QT for 3 days. This is a Diver's Den fish.

Well,

I decided to go ahead and try the freshwater dip. Dipped the fish for about 5 minutes. It seemed to handle the dip well. But, so did whatever is on its eyes. So far, no discernable change.

Hoping someone has some experience with whatever these are.

Can't say I've ever dealt with whatever that is, but IMO it looks like some type of worm. Almost like a small anchor worm (but don't take that as gospel).

If it were my fish, I would dose the tank with PraziPro and see if it falls off. The presence of copper will cut down on Prazi's effectiveness, but it should still do the job if that's a worm Prazi can kill.

Thank you.

A 10-minute freshwater dip got them to fall off. Then, I didn't put the fish back in that QT tank. Even though it is copper-treated, those things still seem to have flourished. Hopefully they won't resurface.

I'm assuming you haven't dosed copper in this new QT yet?

If so, I would put off Coppersafe for now and do at least two rounds of Prazi treatment. Worms usually leave eggs behind.

Yes, the QT has been treated with Coppersafe for weeks. Whatever these things are, the copper didn't stop them. I ordered some Prazi, and once it comes, I will remove the copper and then treat the QT with the Prazi. I don't want these things continuing to live in my QT!

I had to take the risk and move the dipped Tang into my DT. At least in there he'll have the help of 2 cleaner shrimp and one fire shrimp that LOVES to clean...even more than the cleaners!
