Diamond Goby Problem

I just recently had to purchase a new goby my other one jumped out :mad2:
this goby instead of actually making holes to live in just goes straight into the sand. I was wondering if anyone has heard of diamond gobies doing this, also I haven't seen it in about 2 day how long could it stay under the sand before dying if it got stuck?

Yep they jump, been there done that. I now have one in each of my tanks. both burrow under the rock and make nice little hideouts all over the tank. As long as your rock is stable its not a big deal. As far as not seeing him, not sure, I see mine all the time. If its still new it could be shy.

Well after two days of not seeing my goby I started to look around and of course found him under my couch by my fish tank... Not really sure how he jumped through my cover must have happened when I was doing maintenance and I never noticed.

Sorry man, mine did the same. I had my tank covered in eggcrates and he still found a way to carpet surf.
