Diatom Madness!

I appear to have an algae bloom which can only be due to diatoms in my reef. The water used for my salt mix is RO water and all water parameters are excellent.

Does anyone know how I can reduce these diatoms to eradicate this algae bloom? My tank is starting to look rather unsightly.

RODI is better than RO
to many fish??
to much feeding?
better skimmer.
flow??
water changes?
clean up crew?
your tank is still a little new.

How long has the tank been up? It would be helpful if you posted the water params allong with all of the tank information.

It seems alot of people including me are having diatoms this time of the year.I'm wondering if it has something to do with fall and they're in the air and getting into our tanks somehow.I have no fish and I recently got a bloom.I cut the lights down to 4 hours a day,I'm running a phosban reactor and carbon.I'm going to try a RowaPhos Sponge it supposed to absorb silicates also.Look for a thread Randy started about raising PH to reduce Diatoms.Mine are just starting to go away
