Did everyone get their turkey?

Any turkey hunters here? I am off to get mine now. I went yesterday and saw quite a few but did not have a decent shot. I know where they are at now .

I am a die hard spring turkey hunter. I am hoping to go this weekend @ my wifes parents. (good excuse to get away from the inlaws for at least a little while this weekend).

Going on Friday. I can't decide if I'm taking my bow or the gun. My dad scouted last weekend and saw them where they normally are. Got a new Sony Digital video camera for Christmas, so my son is going to get the hunt on video this year.

Always wanted to go turkey hunting. That's about the only thing in Iowa I haven't hunted. I just don't really have any good places to go. And I'm not that much of a fan of hunting public hunting areas. You just never know where someone might be at.

I did not even see on this morning. I think they were all worked up from being shot at yesterday.

Mostly public. They were not gobbling at all. We talked to a guy that has hunted and got one every year for six years and he told us that in the past few years they have not been gobbling or responding to any calls. I think they have us figured out We did hear a few on Sunday night when they went up to roost...nothing since then.

2 years ago I was out half an hour & one came right in, last year I was skunked badly. Hopefully I can have some success again this year. I may try to mix up the decoys if they dont respond this year

This first season ends on Thursday. What time did you see it? was it gobblin'? Post the pic :eek1:

I had one responding to my call. We talked for awhile and then nothing. We are heading north tomorrow to some of my friends land.

I did have two deer walk less than 10 feet in front of me. I nearly crapped my pants.

That happened to me once duck hunting, it came from around the tree within a few feet. I dont know who jumped more, me or the deer.

I do some Deer hunting in Southern IA down around Albia and a Turkey almost took my head off. I literally had to DUCK to get out of the way. It was coming in for a landing at the time. Those things sound like a freight train going through the woods.

At least during deer season.
