did he eat him?

I have had this rose BTA for over a month and I just bought a clown to host in him yesterday. I have a large (265g) tank and figured with that amount of space I would try and see if my other 2 ocellaris clowns would tolerate a new clown. I put him in and they were curious but not too aggressive. The newbie was hiding in the BTA and the other 2 wouldn't go in.
This morning I watched them for a while and all seemed fine. I went walMart and when I came back there is no sign of the new clown anywhere!!
Is it possible the BTA ate him????? He isn't anywhere to be found and the only other thing in my tank that would have even been able to remotely eat him is a 6" sargassum trigger - who is normally docile and was VERY well fed the night before and has no bulging tummy either!
I don't know what to think!!:(

It could have jumped out of the tank, did you check around your tank? Or if it just died it could be in the rocks somewhere. Now if it died and was in the anemone, it may have taken advantage of the situation. There is really no telling without having seen what happened.

I have a canopy and he isn't in there nor do I see him behind the tank. I haven't added all the rock I need - I only have about 100lbs in the 265g tank so if he is dead somewhere he really hid well first. But he was acting fine when I left no signs of sickness whatsoever -

OK well I went in to do my nightly "after the lights go out" check on the tank and just as pretty as a pic my clown was back in the anemone. Where he went for 1/2 a day I don't know but at least he is found!!!! I guess next time I'll wait a day or 5 before posting about a MIA fish!!!
