i have a rose bubble tip anemone... i have a rock column consisting of a rock on top of another... this is my anemone column of rock which is separate from the other rocks... the closest part of the column rock to the main rock is about 3/4 of an inch... well yesturday, one of my anemones skipped over to the next rock without having to come down to the sand... i didn't even know they could do that...! anyways, it was fine for the first day, but today, it started moving up contacting my frogspawn... i can't really re-scape my rocks since the rock the anemone was on was one of the larger rocks in my tank... i could also temporarily move the frogspawn away, but then the anemone might just come closer to the other corals... what i did was, i took one of those plastic syringe tips and carefully pried the anemone's foot off... i only used very little force... once the plastic was under it's foot, it seems like the anemone was willing to let go of the rock with the slightest force... i took my time and it took me about 15 mintues to get it off the rock...

my question is, i know that the foot part of the anemone is one of the more sensitive parts of the animal... i was just wondering if i did any harm by doing this... it's kinda a moot point now asking after the fact, but i just want to make sure... after getting the anemone off, i checked out the bottom for any obvious injuries and i didn't see any... right now, the anenome looks perfectly fluffy in it's new location... actually, the anemone didn't even deflate at all during the whole process... which was a contrast from the time i first got it from the petshop... at that time, it became really really small...

this is the anemone about an hour after i first got it... notice the little tube underneath it... aparently, a piece of broken tubing fell into the shop's anemone tank... the anemone stuck to it and instead of having to peel the anemone off of it, the petshop clerck just put the whole thing in the bag...

have you all ever noticed that anemone slime smells exactly like yuma slime...? :p

inspect the base to make sure there are no small tears or rips that looks like spaghetti is coming out of. if everything is in good shape your anemone will be fine. BTAs are a more resilient anemone than other and can handle a tad more abuse when it comes to moving. good luck with him.
