did i mess up? snail id please

OK. i got these off ebay and they were listed as nisserius (man i cant spell) like. it looked like them to me and now i'm having second thoughts...now that i added them to my tank.
i'll post pics and i found another listing on ebay that has better pics of the snails that i have but i dont know if this is the right name though.

Does your snail look like the one in the auction? If so, the picture of it crawling on the glass is exactly what my Nassarius(es?) look like. I have Nassarius vibex that I collected here in FL, and they are awesome eaters of "leftovers" but not algae. I think you're in good shape.

Check the Vender forum.There have been a couple of threads lately about the obsoltea.They are no longer classified as Nassarius,but they are good scavengers.Also,check Dr. Rons forum to see what he has to say about them.

I bought a 100 of these from the same guy. They are real movers and cleaners. I hate to admit it, but my sandbed looked like crap (no pun intended) in just a couple of days it looks new again. I put 50 in tank and 25 in sump. The other 25 I put in my nano.
Just do a search on the net for Ilyanassa snails. There is actually
some studies on them there.
