Did I miss something?????

I have a question about cycling. I started a 55gallon ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œfowlerââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ with just 30lbs argamax sand. It ran for about three days to get temp right. I then put 20lbs live sand and 50lbs live rock in. I have been testing and waiting for a rise in ammonia but it is still only about 0.25 and wonââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t move. The Nitrateââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s went up to 80 and have came back down to 40, the nitrite went up to 0.50 and has came back down to 0. But still no movement in ammonia gravity is 1.024 am I doing something wrong in the testing or has it just not cycled yet?
Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

It sounds like the cycle is over, If you used real good cured rock this can and does happen.
I would do a waterchange to bring the ammonia down as well to see if you can get the nitrates down.

I agree. I've had tanks that never showed any ammonia. Just wait a bit to make sure something big in the live rock doesn't die.
