My clownfish laid eggs. I did not know if they were going to actually contain babies since my friend, who is a local reefer, and myself thought I had 2 females; so I waited. After I realized that, yes they did in fact contain babies, I tried to hurry and culture my own phytoplankton using Phyto Feast to feed my rotifers. I did not know at the time, but the best by use date when I purchased it was 1/01/11. I just purchased this a couple of days ago. I don't know if it was still good to use, but I tried. I used Melevs idea using Miracle Grow, since I could not get guillards fert in time. Here was my formula
I used a 16.9 oz empty Aquafina bottle. I microwaved it for about 1 minute empty to sterilize. My sg was 1.19, and I used oceanic salt. I filled it a little more than 3/4 full with saltwater, then used 1.25 ml of miracle grow, 0.25 ml Kent essential elements, and then 15 ml of phyto feast. Here are pictures.....a lot of it ended up clumping at the bottom. Please let me know. I started the culture in my basement where my sump it. It is probably around 65* there. :sad1:
