I'm trying to think right now. I have to finish getting ready for my son's b-day party. Need to pick up the cake and some other food at the store this morning. I'm glad the store is less than 5 minutes away!
Yeah...big cake! With ice cream! Sesame stree theme, of course (he's 2).
I just have to get myself in motion so I can get the rest of the stuff ready! I need to have some tea first... ( I had to give up on coffee a few weeks ago )
Yesterday was spent cleaning out wood & stuff at my sister in laws. A door for MIL, 2 windows, so PT landscape timbers, odds & ends on other PT & framing lumber
And a large tool box for me
I spend the day grilling burgers & dogs, cleaning up wrapping paper, taking balloons out of my son's mouth, and other fun party stuff. We have about 1/3 of the cake left. The ice cream is all gone, though...
Now I just need to buy more alarms
I have 6, need 3 more
I want the 2 in the stairs to have the built in lights
The 3rd one will be heat only - for the area near the bathroom & fireplace (hallway). I had a battery backup that I had to remove - it was always going off. Either the bathroom steam or the smoke would set it off
I need these hooked up & running before heating season starts
I had a hollow log shift one night, and the hoolow end was pointing out of the fireplace. House was pretty smokey
Thank god we sleep with the door closed
My dogs would have freaked out if there was smoke. I have a tendency to smoke up the house when lighting the fire in the fireplace, which doesn't draw well. It goes right upstairs when it smokes up, so that detector is the one that goes off, not the one around the corner from the fireplace.
I may run one of those too
Or I may simply install one in place of the new smokes
Actually I just looked, we have 2 already. One on the ceiling - battery, one near the floor - plugged into an outlet
I'm also installing emergency lighting in the stairway/Master bedroom. It may wake me up in the middle of the night, but at least we'll have light to get out the back door if anything happens
The smokes & lighting circuit will be on the whole house Gen once installed
