Didn't know the Atlantic had pretty zoas!

Saw a big colony of these beauties beneath the shade of a large sea fan the week before Thanksgiving. The closest I can ID them to (at least on zoaid) is "Northern Lights." The zoas (or are they palys?) in the reference pic are darker, but my tank underwent a mild bleaching episode recently - which probably has these guys a little lightened. Regardless, they look to be doing good

Blue Deaths?

mmm... They don't seem to have the same morphology as the blue/purple/green death palys (i.e. larger, flatter oral disc and shorter/frillier tentacles).

EDIT: can I call them Farscape palys/zoas? They kinda look like Crichton's wormholes :lol2: (anybody who knows that ref get's a high five)

Sweet find! Those aren't blue deaths they do look like Northern lights to me or some type close to those. Are they a PE type?

they like nice, i think i seen some that look like this but with the green mouths forgot exactly wat they where called maybe electric ladys but im sure im wrong

I have a few in my tank that ive also found while diving. Except that on the "face" they have a single horizontal line going across in a darker color. Unfortunately I cant seem to get any good pictures of them. But ya the atlantic has some nice stuff if you can find them! ;)
