My corals aren't doing very well and my pulsing xenia died or is dieing. My Carbonate Hardness was 280. I did a 20% water change 2 nights ago and it is now down to 220. I will do another 20% water change next monday. Here are my other chem levels:

CA: 440
Carbonate Hardness: 220
MG: 1215
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 0
Nitrite: 0
Iodide: looks like 0 because the liquid was very clear
Iodate: looks like 0 because the liquid was very clear

Pics can be found here: http://epudge.com/Dale/Tank/Tank 2005/Corals/
Xenia - far left red spot
Mushrooms - upper center
zoos - 2 right red spots

zoanthids - a few different kinds (3)
pulsing xenia(dead)
fuzzy grass mushroom(there were 8-10 heads now there are 2)

The corals have been in my tank for almost 2 weeks now and most of the zoanthids have not opened up. Some of them will open but not all at the same time. Some of the mushrooms have white cottonball looking stuff coming out of the heads that are left. What can I do to salvage what is left and to get my tank going for future corals. the first fish were added about 2 weeks ago.

Here is my tank information:

120Gal AGA tank with overflows
Lighting: (2x) 250W HQI metal halides with 13k AB Bulbs
4 Blue-green chromis
1 Electric blue hermit
2 scarlet hermits
Various Snails
130ish lbs of live rock
around 3" of sand (both oolitic and red carib)
40 gallon sump with chaetomorpha/grape caluerpa 2" oolitic sand
mag 9.5 return pump(upgrading to mag12 on monday)
(2x)Maxijet1200's
Filter sock on overflow

Watch the green chromis they love to eat xenia I tried to keep them twice and both times I had to remove them.

I have not been adding anything. Should I add Iodine even though my tank hasn't been setup for very long.

Never add iodine.

You donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t need to test for it if you donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t add it.

doesn't xenia and other corals use iodine though? So I don't need to add it if I don't have any?
