Dif. colors = dif. food?

After target feeding some brine shrimp to various mushrooms the other day I'm starting to wonder if different colored mushrooms are more photosynthetic than others? There was a colony of metallic green ones that looked really nice and they didn't close up and "engulf" the brine like the red/burgundys. A friend had a theory that they may be more photosynthetic and didn't prefer, or need to, eat as much as the others. Any thoughts?

I must admit i have been thinking the same too. I tried feeding my shrooms on a few occasions with mysis and have found that certain ones only respond to it. Dont know wether this is like you said or just coincidence.

After another month of observations and feedings I still feel the same and I still wonder if others have observed the same?

so is it possible that a green mushroom would like to eat phytoplankton, but not brine shrimp and so on?
