Difference between the 9010 and 9015

With the same footprint and the only difference being the 9015 is 2 inches taller. Why is there such a tank size difference in them?

The 9010 really only takes in effectively about 2/3rd the amount of air. If you have the same air flow the skimmer cup only fills with water. The 9015 is more powerful as you can run the air intake full throttle. I generally prefer the 9010.

I plan on using this on a 65 gal reef tank. I am curently using a CSS125. Will the 9010 outperform the CSS and take more proteins out of the water?
