No. In the long run, one (the A. clarki) will kill the other.

Very doubtful it would work. I have a pair of clarkis (currently separated in different tanks) and a pair of ocellaris all in qt right now. I tried to line up the tanks all together, first the female clarki next the the ocellaris tank, she spent the entire time trying to attack them through the glass. Moved the tanks around so the male was in between the female and the ocellaris pair. The female still was trying to get to them through the glass and the male started too. I ended up having to put a piece of cardboard between them to get the clarki's to stop.
Okay, how about this... we had a pair of Clarkii where I work. I moved the anemone they were in to a new tank and the small male happened to be in it. So it was moved along. There was an Occy in the new tank and they pretty much bonded overnight.
The female Clarkii was rather lonely so I chcked in a small Occy, same thing.
Well, both Clarkii-Occy pairs were sold, so I can't say what happened after. But hey, they at least bonded so don't see how it's at all impossible.

how long were they together for before being sold?
The male Clarkii + fem Occy was for two weeks, the female Clarkii + male Occy was a month.

I wouldn't say 2 weeks or a month is enough time to say they were a bonded pair. I am also not saying it can't happen, but highly doubtful it lasted long term.
Hi mate, that is correct. That is why I made sure to never say that it definitely happened.
But if it's gotten to the point where they were spending time together in the anemone and doing the dance and all that, then at least it's showing that it is definitely possible.

I agree the possibility is there anything is possible at what expense do I want to lose one of my favorite fish the only one that made it through my tank crash (wich was my fault) or do I spend 20 buck and buy another perc clown at the lfs I am all about trying the unknown but not over two fish it just isn't worth the chance in my eyes
