Different Forms of Hammer Coral.....

The Branching hammers ( Paraancora ) do come in orange / gold , however they are not as bright as the wall hammers , the paraancora hammer is collected in Nth West Australia and some reefs out of Cairns Queensland , Up until a few years ago , It was believed by the scientific community that they were not found in our waters , The ones you see are from Indonesia , we are not allowed to import corals into Australia . However we do have some awsome hammers here that don't make it overseas , I will try to organise some photos of my latest Hammer , Quad colour :inlove: also i have a large fluro Yellow in my collection , These do not come up very often :beer:

30?!? WoW!!! That's awesome. I love the colouration and movement. I currently have my 'trophy piece' - Australian Orange Wall Hammer. it's about 10 inches long, 2 inches wide and 4 inches tall. The flesh was grew all the way down its height. It has since receded a bit but has grown back. I also have a metallic green torch with metallic green heads. It's smaller with about 3 heads - but it's sweepers are long. the same for a metallic green torch with gold/yellow heads (4). I'll post pictures when I can as well.

I will try to get some photos of my current tank and hammers onto this site , However if you go to the top of the LPS section , under Ultra Ultra section , Page 17 , post # 416 , You will see 3 fluro yellow hammers , :inlove: , These photos were posted by my friend Ben , These were in my old tank , have collected more since then :beer:

I am useless at taking photos and putting them into the computer , I rely on a few mates to do that for me , You will love my new quad colour hammer , i have never seen another one like it , In fact the collectors have never seen another one like it :inlove:, I once had a fluro pink tip hammer that was collected in western australia , however i lost it when doing my transfer to the new tank , I use a blue LED torch ( Fluke brand ) to find the really unusual coloured hammers , This way you know what you are getting .
My collector mates phone me , when they find something different , so i am very lucky to have access to premium stock :inlove:

What's the difference between a wall and branching hammer anyway?
I'm not sure I'm answering your question properly....but here goes:
Think of branching hammer (or any other Euphyllia for that matter) as growing/spreading out like a branch with individual colonies/sprouts at each end.
While wall hammer is generally one large colony with an underlying skeletal structure that is one solid piece in the form of a wall or an X/cross.
