Different Led Lights??

Hi, I'm getting a led light for my tank but i don't know which one is better.

1) 7,000k 660nm red led (also had blue and white)

2) 7,000k and has red green blue and white leds with a fully automated controller.

what is the difference between the red and green or is it just preference.

and will having it on a cycle do anything for the tank or anything.

(this is also meant for my sump because i have an inside the tank sump)

the light spectrum will be different depending on the colors of leds involved. my understanding is programmable full spectrum light fixtures are better becuase they have many colors of leds in them and you could also tweak the spectrum to your liking.

You should name the make and model of the lights, or put a link to them. There is a ton of diff units and variables that make them more or less worth the money. Basically, you can't compare units just from color and K's

beware on cheap led units the binning is suspect to say the least ie wave lenghts can be out by 10 or 20 % . save your pennies and go full spectrum with a controller.

10% to 20% error... really? Where do those numbers come from?

Are you saying a 440nm led could have a 20% bin error and be anywhere from 352nm to 528nm? Seriously?

Even at a 10% error you are saying it could be from 396nm to 484nm. That's seems crazy to me.

Maybe they could have a plus or minus 10nm range if they are really bad (430nm to 450nm). More like a plus or minus 5nm range is more likely (435nm to 445nm). And that kind of error rate is pretty insignificant to your corals. They want blue and they can use a wide range of blue because different corals have different zooxanthellae and use different wavelengths of blue. So having it right on 440nm isn't really a big deal IMHO.

One of the light brand is wave point and has 6,500 k and only white less becaus wi also have a inside the tank Refugium but I also want a blue light to that I can switch off with the white . Does anyone know a good brand that has boy blue and white( or more colors) that is 6,500k?
