Well in case anyone was curious DA did agree to refund my purchase and I shipped my system back to them Monday. I am pretty disappointed as I really wanted this system to work but don't want to beta test it on my SPS tank.
One thing where I think they are making a mistake is the pricing. The Archon system costs significantly more than the comparable Apex system and the Apex comes with a display as well as cloud based control. I know people have stated that there are many new features to come but I haven't seen
anything that my RKE can't already do.
Glad they worked it out with you SoloG. As I have always said, you have to do what is best for you and everyones situation is a little different. I can say that I have been to the point to throw the towel in, but always jumped back a step before I took that move. I have had the APEX and the RKE. To me, both were the same with a few differences that didn't really mean anything. The Archon with built in wifi and open source was what caught my attention. The cloud is important and I know it is close to being "real" so my hopes are high. In the end, I think the Archon will be a solid performer, that is the only reason I am sticking with it. I like the fact that we can change the display pages to a format we want, folks like the beta users can and will develop an App and enhancements are truely up to the user community. We just need to get through the phase that should have been worked out ..... again, the gripe of most of us "common folks".
I really wish it would have worked out better for you as you would have been a great example of a working system.
I, too, really want this to work, I see a lot of potential, but I'm almost to the point of giving up....
Can anyone tell my why my email alerts aren't working?
I'm using the same settings that worked on my RKL-NET (where xxx is my personal information):
Mail hub & port: mail.gmx.com 587
Mail hub user: xxxx@gmx.com
Mail hub password: xxxx
Recipient of email or text: xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net
I enter that all in, click Send, then a few seconds later click Test.
Nothing happens. When I click away from the Alarms page and back to it, all my fields go back to the example@gmail.com entries.
Also is there a way to enter additional emails?
I just tested mine again and it works:
I can get the mail alerts to work by:
Mail hub & port
smtp.googlemail.com 465 (leave the default in)
Mail hub user
get_a_gmail_account@gmail.com (I just got a quick gmail email address)
Mail hub password
your gmail password
Recipient of email or text
Enter the email address you want it to really go to here
do a send then test it
And your correct, the data does not stay there, but it does stay as your alarm email/text (at least it does for me).

SoloGarth, DA's lack of customer service is incessant, and perpetual. I was a loyal customer for 5 years and their "out of the garage" like business aproach is madening. I have went with a full out Apex setup and couldn't be happier! And Neptune's customer service is Stellar! There isn't anything an Archon can do that an Apex can't, And I do Automatic water changes with my Dos, which let's me know how water transfers went down to the ml. I really enjoy MP40 wireless control (with their wave patterns or your own fully custom patterns). The Fusion Web interface is a no brainer without any port forwarding nightmares. The Auto feeder is just what this traveling guy needs to.

Right on Dave. Let us that are happy with DA enjoy sharing our knowledge and benefits among ourselves and those that choose other paths have their own forum to share their positive experiences and drop the trash talk from either forum.
1.08.5 has auto - restarts built in thst 7 didnt. 6 was faulty so they had to push people to 7 to remove it.
