digital monitering equipment

Hi All
I'm new to reef keeping and new to the forum. I have just purchased a 300ltr cube tank with built in overflow with stand and a sump with everything I need heaters protein skimmer powerhead return pump and so on. I am in Australia and it would seem that we are being ripped off over price on Neptune Apex gear the only one available is $900 their is no lite or junior option available. and digital aquatics do not supply an Australian option either. however I have found this 7-in-1 pH °C °F ORP mV EC CF TDS Meter Water Quality Monitor Tester Thermometer on ebay for $100 coming from Hong Kong. has anybody ever used this or simular? or any other ideas im really keen on being able to monitor ph and temp all the time.

Welcome! I would try other vendors than Digital Aquatics. Have you tried the vendor forum to see if there are some that will ship to Australia?
I've never tried that type of monitor but I do have an Apex and they are quite wonderful

I would ask other local reefers where to shop. Apex is a great system.

Maybe a silly question but why not just buy a used one here and get the correct plug adapter

If you just want to monitor, and not control, then just get one of many digital monitors. Hanna is a good brand that comes to mind and makes many "dip and read" type digital monitors. No need to spend all the $$ on a controller (which can do far more than just read the temp and pH) if you aren't wanting all the features.
