How many of you use digital testers for things like Nitrate and Phosphates? Can someone recommend the best brand? thx

hanna alk checker and phosphorus checker

HI-736 Ultra Low Range Phosporus Checker .....

Alkalinity DKH Colorimeter HI772 Hanna Checker - Marine Water

The Hanna Phosphorus ULR Checker and the Phosphate Checker both seem to get reasonable reviews. There's a PinPoint nitrate meter that is handy for people with color vision issues, but it's rather pricey and not otherwise much better than a test kit.

I second the Hanna ulr phosphorus checker and also the Hanna alk checker I find to be really good too.

With a little work, the ULR Hanna Checker can be used to measure nitrates too.

The little work is using a syringe filter on the test solution before taking areading and generating a calibration curve.

Seems like someone could generate the curve and everyone could use It. A curve would be needed for each vendor's kit, but still, this isn't many curves. Funny that this approach hasn't been adopted after all these years.

I use the hanna alk and calcium tester. The calcium one gave me a way wrong number yesterday (570) might not have rinsed the vile good enough.. who knows
