I was wondering wher the best place to put the probe is.
In the sump, in the tank with good flow on it or does it really matter?????

depending how big your tank is and your sump and the flow rate through the sump, some people have noticed that thier display tank temp can actually be up to a degree or so higher than the sump. depends on what lighting you have and how close it is to the water surface. so just to be safe i keep the probe halfway down in the mail display tank.

If the electric goes out, you're going to need to know the temp of the water in the tank. Not that it couldn't be moved during that time, but I keep one in the fuge, and one in each of the tanks. I have three right now, downsizing to two this weekend.

I have one halfway down in the main tank and one in the sump. No particular reason why, I just like to have the one in the sump as a second opinion, so to speak...
