Digitata polyp extension

My two digitatas dont seem to have the polp extension or "fluffy" look of others ive seen. Not sure that makes sense but below are the pictures. All the other acros and monti caps seem perfectly fine. Do they look fine or is there a way to fix this? All peramiters are in check. KH is 7-8 and calcium is 440-460. They are still growing fine I recon.

What type of flow?
I find mine close-up when hit with to much flow (highest speed in reefcrest) then reopen at slower speeds. Also when my Mag was low they did open as much.?
Mine just don't have the bright colors anymore just dull looking not sure what thats about.

Flow isn't that high where that coral is. What do you mean when your mag was low? What was it? Mine is between 7-8. I may bump my kh up a point and see if it has any effect.

Yes magnesium was around 1150 or so and I was having a hard time keep KH up.
My red monticap (I know not digi) faded badly and German blue digi would not grow and was browning out. I had no readable nitrates and phos was reading 0.006 so it was not a nutrient problem. Upped the Magnesium to 1350 (give or take) and colors and polyps came back in a month. They also started to grow and encrust more and KH stays at 8-8.5 when testing.

Now like I said earlier the colors aren't as bright as before but not faded or AS brown. Still a little brown toward the bottom of the colony but the digi is puffy when not blasted with flow.

I'm ordering a mag test kit tomorrow. I know kh is always 7-8 when I test it but who knows. Ill test that again tomorrow too. Thanks guys!

Tested mag just a minute ago with a salifert and it came out to be 1305. I did a weekly 5% water change this morning so ill give it a day or two and retest to see if it comes down any.
