dimensions on bracket for streams?

Can you please post the dimensions of your mounting bracket for the streams?

I wondered about mounting it in a SeaSwirl. Called Marine Depot and was told by the contact that SeaSwirl had tried that and it worked great!

Best of all world in my view. You guys ought to buy SeaSwirl.

You then have alternating on/off current with variable also plus random and consistent 90 degree sweeping. Plus low watt (both units) and low heat exchange!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to know bracket size to pick proper SeaSwirl to epoxy it in to.

Thanks a ton. Also, I e-mailed your dealer in Austin and they never replied. FYI.

Thanks,

Todd

The email might be old. aqua-tek... @earthlink.net is the current address, rvitko... @ix.netcom.com is my old email address and I sold AquaTek to the employees and seeing as my 11 year old email address gets over 200 spam emails a day I don't bother with it and my account will soon expire. I think you mean some other device than a SeaSwirl which is designed to create a sweeping current from a return flow and is not for attaching a powerhead. Their is a device that is for attaching a powerhead to and I know Champion sells them, likely Marine Depot does to. Just for clarification the Streams 6000 and 6100 don't cycle on and off, they speed up and slow down. The 6060 and 6080 cannot be used on any controllers or wavemakers. The bracket consists of many parts I think the one piece you need is 6080.23 and that measures about 1.25" by 1.88" .

The company that made the powerhead rotator went out of business apparently. I checked around and it is no longer available. I can't advise connecting one to a sewswirl as the are not designed for that and I would talk with Ed at Aquarium Currents before attempting this. SeaSwirls are designed for connecting to a return pump and oscillating the return flow and not for connecting powerheads to.

Thanks Roger.

Actually I'm not wrong on the SeaSwirls.

Yes, he tried one by mounting the bracket in the down/out pipe side of a SeaSwirl and it supposedly worked great!

So, you can use a controllable Stream (for flow changes) AND have it rotating back and forth. Like I said, the best of all possibliities!!!!!!!!!

Is tje part number you referenced the straight bar looking thing with holes in it that the Streams bolt to? That's the one I need to know on.

Thanks for the reply.

Todd

Sorry, that is the size of the actual rail. I would just be sure to verify this because having used Seaswirls I think this will be difficult to do and have a reliable function.

Thanks Roger. I'll check with Ed at SeaSwirl too.

I'll let you know and take some pics if I do it.

My idea is to have some set stationary with your magnets etc and a few on the rotators.

Any problems with the Streams sucking in snails etc?

Thanks again,

Todd

On the electronic ones no, they spin occasionally when off to keep animals out. Nudibranchs and anemones could be at risk though.
