Dino Outbreak In Sps Tank Need Help

That stuff is tough to beat. Not sure what finally did it for me, but whatever nutrient is lives off finally dried up. Like Joe, I use carbon and did large water changes after taking out my sandbed.

I got busy and a little lazy with changing out my carbon/phosban/poly filters = Dino outbreak. I've been battling it for a couple of weeks now. I'm changing out the carbon every 3-4 days at a rate of one cup per 100 gals and 10% water changes in the same time frame and siphoning out as much as I can.....I got the Dinos on the run now...hopefully.

Hey Mike, The carbon really helps. I was surpised by how much. I really think it actually helped more than the water changes.

I have been battling somthing that looks similar but is bright green in color. Blows off but comes right back. Would this also be a dyno or cano?

I pulled my 75 reef down and moved everthing after a good scrubbing to my new 90. Most of the greens stuff went away but I still have some spots of outbreak coming back on a few rocks.

I also have nothing that mesures with Salifert kits (nitrate, phosphate all test 0). I am going to try the water changes weekly and changing out the carbon every other day and see if that helps.

Thanks

Andrew
