I'm on the other forum and active with 3 other threads just seeing if anyone local has any input on how they beat it if they have had it

They can give you a run for your patience. I went through this a long time ago and it felt never ending. I put a soda-lime reactor (think I still have some sodalime left) to raise the PH. At the time I believe Gary recommended using kalkwasser to get the PH up - same net result. I did the blackouts and honestly I think the did more harm than good.

If it happened again I would get the soda-lime reactor running and suck out as much as possible with a small tube. on memory I believe there was a consensus on not doing water changes but I don't remember why. There is also H202 dosing which I believe I did. eventually it went away but it wasn't quick or painless.

for the H202 search for this thread:

Dinoflagellates my experience......h2o2 reefing tool!!!!!

the dino x did a great job the first few times I believe I have a different strain now and when I dose the dino x it actually makes it worst I have it semi under control its only in the sand bed . will try the the soda lime trick and look up a reactor

Sounds like you're close to getting rid of it - I remember toward the end it took a while to get rid of the last little bits of it. Definitely try the kalkwasser topoff. I just premix a bunch in a large rubbermaid container, and the topoff pump draws from it.
