75 gallon right? Kalk would be the easiest & cheapest way for a tank that size IMO.

Kalk is pretty simple to deal with, just monitor things as you go - make daily reading at the same time of the day - everyday, and just keep an eye on it. I ran kalk for years, never really had a problem except for when you're dealing with a larger tank and coral demand starts rising, kalk can't really keep up IMO.

Yes, it's a 75g. I have two BRS dosers for BIonic 2 part. My Alk is at 8.4dkh and CA is at 405. pH is about 8.25. I increased Alk and CA today to dose a few more minutes in an attempt to raise the pH (monitored by RKL) while monitoring my Alk #'s.

Anyone know how high my Alk should be to achieve 8.6 pH?

I'm on my second day of darkness, I could still see some Dino in the sand bed, it's very faint but still there. Running my skimmer without the collection cup for a while to see if that will increase the pH a bit more naturally.

Well it's been nearly a month after doing total darkness with the cardboard and NO signs of Dino at all. Sand has been a crisp white. Didn't have to dose Hydrogen Peroxide!!!

I'm dealing with a resurgent population of Dinos myself right now ReeferGil, and just stumbled upon your thread while researching the issue. This thread has a lot of good suggestions and I was wondering what steps you took since a lot of things were said a different points in the thread. How many days did you do a blackout for? Did you siphon off the existing dinos from the sand before the blackout? Did you end up boosting your pH?
