Dipping and acclimation for Zoanthids

Dumb question, but if you are doing a FW/Lugols dip on Zoanthids is there any reason to drip acclimate before hand?

Thanks,
Dale

It's certainly not a dumb question my friend. We all have our own ideas, methods or reasons for doing what we do with new arrivals, so it's personal preference. Me personally, the only time I drip acclimate zoas or palys is when they arrive in horrible conditions or when the shipment water is under 74 or over 86 degrees. If none of the above apply, I simply do a dip followed by close inspection and they always do wells in my system in conjunction with running the actinics only for the first day.

Thanks Mucho, that is pretty much the method I use, but was thinking about proper acclimation of other things and this came up.

Hyper,
I am not sure I would drip acclimate to a Freshwater dip, I think keeping them in Freshwater for a few hours could be bad. Of course, I could be totally wrong.

I just temp. acclimate mine as many other people do too but I think I might need to dip mine soon as I am having some problems with them.
