Dipping LPS???

I just placed an order for a few LPS corals, and was wondering if people dip theirs at all before putin them in the tank?

I have Lugol's Solution, and have heard of some people dipping with it. Does anyone think I should dip these corals when they arrive?

I'm getting a Brain (Favites), Torch, Forgspawn, and Bubble if that helps.

If you have Lugol's, I would dip according to their directions. Is beneficial.

i dont personally. for sps it can be a very needed process but for lps its seems like a pretty useless step. a lugols dip can cause severe stress and considering this happening right after you had them shipped, it could be a bit too much for the coral. i will however give lps a lugols dip if its going down hill. other wise i just give them a good look over for hitchhikers or unwanted algae and then put them in the frag tank so i can observe them closely for a few weeks before they go into the display.
so im pretty much saying its not really needed but if you want to its your call to make (for lps that is).
