I have had a flame for about a month or so. I did not have a QT set up but know the lfs owner and told him I wanted the angel. He put him in a QT tank in the back and I observed him along with another fish I purchased over the course of nearly three week. The angel is okay in my tank, eating and acting normal. However, recently a dark blackish color has developed on the top of his head that almost makes him look like he is dirty.
I took a few pictures but my camera and aquarium pictures skills are not good enough to show what I am talking about. In the picture you cannot really see the dirty color I am talking about.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Also, if it is a problem and I need to set him up in a hospital tank, I will get one. I worry a little about cycling it though. Would live rock from my main tank do the trick? If it doesn't work I worry that the new tank will do more harm than good with ammonia spikes and so forth.
